Would you trade your vote for an iPod touch?

The upcoming 2008 presidential election prompted a poll of NYU students. The poll revealed some startling figures:
- 66% would give up their vote for a free ride to NYU
- 20% would give up their vote for an iPod touch
- 50% would give up their right to vote forever for $1 million.
Is the allure of a new iPod touch really that great, or is it just that these students don't value their right to vote? How many of the polled students actually vote? Are we talking an 8GB or a 16GB iPod touch?
Let us know what you think. Would you give up your vote for an iPod touch? If not, what would you give it up for?

I'd give up my 2008 vote for a full/free ride, and also to get an iPod Touch. I wouldn't give up my right to vote indefinitely for a million dollars though.

Depends on the election. Not a major election. But these primaries? I honestly don't have an opinion either way between the candidates. Obama? Hillary? Doesn't matter to me. Sure, I'd feel really guilty about it, but if I don't really care, why not get something nice too?

I wouldn't give up my vote for anything, i think that students should take this more seriously and think that this could affect the elections. Its a priviledge to be able to vote and therefore should be taken with responsability

Seriously, this poll upsets me more than anything I have read today. Who in their right mind would give up their right to vote? That's what makes you alive.
