iPod Touch released in stores
iPod Touch on sale prior to initial release date

When Apple announced the upcoming release of the new 8GB and 16GB iPod Touch, the date given was an international release date of Sept 28th, 2007. However, since then, reports have been coming in from across North America from consumers who've been able to already purchase the new iPod touch in stores.
Early customers have been extremely pleased with the new iPod touch, which comes bundled with Wifi capabilities, a Safari browser, and a Wifi iTunes store. Despite some early complaints that the new iPod touch would have limited functionality compared to the iPhone, those who have managed to snag one of the early release iPods have had nothing but good things to say.
According to Gizmodo's review, the WiFi iTunes works perfectly, making it very easy to find and download songs immediately. In addition, the battery life exceeded that stated by Apple in the iPod touch specs listing, coming in at just under 7 hours of video battery life.
Gizmodo and other reviews didn't have much to say in the way of complaints, but common concerns were the screen, which isn't quite of the same quality of that on the iPhone, and some reduction in features from the iPhone.

Me too! I earned mine for free (following the steps here) and I'm just waiting for it to ship. It's pre-ordered for me from FutureShop. I'll be posting pictures and a review once it arrives.
